About the Science and Innovation Programme

The Science and Innovation Programme aims to support the conservation of avian species and their habitats through the development of cross-cutting, scientifically robust, and reliable products. With a fundamental focus on seeking innovative solutions, projects make use of a wide range of leading data science, technological and remote survey approaches. The programme currently focuses on promoting the conservation of our most threatened species and habitats through the development of survey methodology, the delineation of conservation networks, and creating conservation planning products in order to better represent our threatened species within existing protected area networks.

Vision

To create and execute high-quality, defendable, innovative and peer-reviewed science that will benefit the conservation of birds and their habitats.

Mission

To use state of the art modelling, data resources and data management techniques to solve challenging research and conservation problems, to support the conservation of birds and their habitats.
