BirdLife South Africa periodically reviews its Constitution to determine whether it is still relevant to the organisation.

A Board Subcommittee, under the chairmanship of Roger Wanless, was established last year to review the Constitution, and after this process, some amendments have been proposed.

  • The significant amendments have been summarised in the “NOTE TO MEMBERS”.
  • These amendments, including less significant changes, have been marked up in the MSWord document (BLSA Constitution with marked up amendments for BLSA AGM on 24 May 2025.doc).
  • The revised Constitution (BLSA Constitution_revision for AGM on 24 May 2025.pdf).

The proposed changes to the Constitution will be presented for adoption by BirdLife South Africa’s members at its AGM in Cape Town on 24 May 2025.
