Feather finesse  A closer look at Bateleurs

Photographer Gerbus Vermaak captured a series of images of the Bateleur, one of the most attractive of Africa’s eagles, in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park. After studying them, raptorphile David Allan discovered some apparent anomalies in local field-guide illustrations.
