Ouplaas Guesthouse is situated 13 km from Ottosdal in the North West Province. The sandstone house was built in 1917 and is set amidst age-old trees and a beautiful lush green garden. The farm Holfontein, on which Ouplaas Guest House is situated, has been part of the family since 1856 and is steeped in history and anecdotes from bygone years.
Your hosts, Coert and Magdalena Coetzee, have been living and working on the farm for the past 30 years. Magdalena’s love of music, people, interior decorating, and good food give a distinctive character and atmosphere to Ouplaas.

Kedar Country Hotel, Conference Centre & Spa is built on the historic farm of President Paul Kruger in Boekenhoutfontein. The main Kruger House is a museum and showcases a wide variety of Kruger memorabilia.
Kedar is currently an area of some 1200 acres, which has been game fenced and populated with a wide variety of game, including eland, blesbok, impala, bushbuck, nyala, kudu, zebra, blue wildebeest, pygmy hippos and giraffe. Invaluable environmental work was undertaken to restore the wetlands and to remove alien vegetation. Prolific bird life has in turn been attracted.
The property boasts 60 stone built rooms, Royal and a Presidential suite as well as 7 Conference venues. Other facilities include an outstanding restaurant with many Boer War memorabilia, a large swimming pool, game drives and an enclosure housing Stoffel and Matilda, two specimens of the endangered Pygmy Hippo species. Finfoot Lake Reserve is set alongside an unspoilt water frontage, near Vaalkopdam, approximately 30 minutes’ drive from the main entrance of the Pilanesberg National Park, and 90 minutes’ drive from Johannesburg.
This lodge is naturally crafted from wood and thatch, and compliments the surrounding woodlands and foliage. Finfoot Lake Reserve offers two accommodation options: comfortable chalets where fifty guests can be accommodated or two stylish self-catering villa’s which can accommodate 8 and 10 guests respectively. Conference facilities are available for up to 60 people and a number of interactive team building activities can be arranged.
The large thatched Lapa serves as the main hub at Finfoot Lake Reserve. This open-sided, breezy building is home to the camp’s bar and cosy lounge areas where most meals are served. Descend a few steps out onto the sun deck, where there’s plenty of seating to sit back and soak up the view.
Enjoy abundant wildlife and astonishing birdwatching at Finfoot. As well as canoeing, fishing, barge cruises, game drives, guided bush walks or simply relax in our beautiful rock pool. Visitors can also unwind with a variety of treatments in the on-site spa, or engage in some friendly competition in the games room.
