Events - Save our Seabirds Festival 2009
This year we are running a very exciting, action packed week of activities aimed at highlighting some of the great work being done in seabird conservation in South Africa. This week also aims to raise money for future seabird research to be conducted through the Percy Fitzpatrick Institute. This week will run in conjunction with National Marine Week: 12 – 18 October 2009.
The highlights of the week include:
- Monday – Wednesday evenings: Cheese and wine evenings with prominent speakers within the conservation fields. Time: 18h30 for 19h00. Entrance is FREE. Venue: Two Oceans Aquarium, Cape Town. Monday: Peter Steyn: "Antarctic Impressions" (including book signing). FULLY BOOKED! Tuesday: Prof. Les Underhill: "The secret lives of Langebaan's waders". Wednesday: Prof George Branch: "Seabirds as key contributors to marine eco-systems" (including book signing).
