Sasol Birds of Southern Africa - 3rd Edition

The third edition of this fieldguide has been fully revised and updated to include 27 new species. It is undoubtedly the leading fieldguide for the region, and is authored by Ian Sinclair, Phil Hockey and Warwick Tarboton. The third edition has revised text, many new illustrations and new features to make bird identification more user-friendly than ever. The illustrations were painted by Peter Hayman and Norman Arlott.

The 3rd Edition of Sasol includes labels on the illustrations which highlight key features to look for, colour coding a checklist of the regions birds and three quick-reference guides for locating species. It also has illustrated family accounts and new maps, which are based on the South African Bird Atlas data.

The third edition is available in a laminate-covered version, which is ideal for use in the field.
