Larks and Pipits are not related, but are both generally drab coloured birds, which are terrestrial. Larks have aerial displays and many species are found in the drier parts of the country. The Pipit family includes wagtails and Longclaws, the latter of which are brightly coloured. Larks and pipits are among the more difficult groups of birds to identify. This group of birds is also sometimes referred to as LBJ's - however in this guide, we have reserved that title for smaller birds! | Red-capped Lark
