Group Details:

Small, mostly social, seed-eating birds. Most of the group are polygamous and nest colonially, often in association with water. Sparrows differ in being monogamous, not polygamous. Weavers, bishops and widowbirds build well constructed nests from grass stems or other plant material. Several species are parasitized by cuckoos.
